Evaluating patient and specialist experiences with “meekijkconsults” in urology

We are offering a Master’s internship (starting August/September) within a qualitative evaluation of the Huisarts+punt collaboration in Amsterdam. This innovative care model connects general practitioners (GPs) and medical specialists through digital “meekijkconsults,” aiming to improve access to specialist care and reduce workload in both primary and hospital care.

Project focus This internship focuses specifically on urology meekijkconsults for patients with elevated PSA. We aim to understand how this consultation model works in real-world practice and how it is experienced by both patients and urologists.

Approach This is a qualitative study using purposive sampling and thematic analysis. Interviews will be conducted until data saturation is reached and analysed by multiple researchers. Students may refine their own research question within the broader study focus and will contribute to the shared analysis and project outcomes.
